This evening I put a request out over on my business (Aussie term) / fan (US term) page on Facebook, whether or not anyone could see my posts? Because sometimes, it feels as though I am talking into the milky way and the echo makes me question whether or not I should keep posting or has Facebook totally put the kibosh on all business page postings, unless you have paid to promote?
I was delighted with the response! Tonights post at least, reached a few people and 15 wonderful peeps said ‘Yes. I am here. I can see you. I am with you and I am willing to let you know that I see and hear what you say’. So lovely! So nice to feel heard and connected over on FB land. I mean…there is only SO much my family and friends wish to hear about art on my personal FB page isn’t there? So my art page is kind of important to me and so are the people who visit me over there.
Well after reaching out and asking for human contact, it prompted and inspired me to delve a little more and ask more of my audience/art perusing FB family…well thats how I shall think of them..you…us now 🙂
This is what I asked them and by me posting this here on my blog too, it seems I am asking YOU as well…
I am thinking of doing a weekly post (over on my blog/website and sharing here) where I share a bit more about arty stuff, art making, art supplies/application and anything else you may like to know about that I might know about! and if I don’t…we can explore together!
Here is what I feel I can offer at this point in my own creative learning journey:
1/ ‘Mixed Media Monday’ posts, where I will do my best to provide photo’s and/or video of what I do when creating a mixed media painting. It might be a journal spread, creating layered backgrounds or it might be part of my process creating a larger mixed media painting on plywood or canvas or watercolour paper or canvas board. Or it might be something you have asked me to share about.
or/
2/ ‘Free Expression Friday’ posts, where I talk/explain/show you how I incorporate music, dance, stretching, movement into liberating and fun expressive/intuitive painting. There is so much I can share about this as it becomes interwoven into bringing out aspects about self and living life and not just about the painting. It still has me in awe this process and I am still exploring the expansiveness of it.
or/
3/ ‘Self Portrait Sunday’ posts, where you get to open up your heart and soul (in the privacy of your own home and only to the extent you wish to of course) and invite in some self reflection and possible growth and healing. Nothing so technical as to become boring tho. We will do a whimsical, stylised portrait of a woman or girl (whatever comes up…sometimes we connect with the younger versions of ourselves and connect with our inner child) Oooh! I just had a thought…we could even play with our inner crone…our older version of ourselves and see what sage advice we would give to ourselves! reminds me of that advert on TV… Hadn’t thought of that…will have to try it out myself first! ** excited!! Anyhoo’s, it might not be a self portrait but just a whimsical face that might morph into an animals face, it could be your pet or an animal spirit that you connect with or are drawn to. Either way, it will be cute and fun and illuminating to do.
So, I am putting myself out on a new territory limb here, whilst I am feeling a moment and mood of brave. If I hear the call of ‘yes’~ we like the sound of that, then it will give me all the momentum I need. It wont be for everyone, as some of you will just be happy to follow my page and thats wonderful and I thank you for being here. For others…it may just be what you feel you may need. So do let me know.
Whilst this braveness is still sitting here with me, I will go and copy this post over onto my blog and will twitter it and share it into the world and see what comes back. In the meantime, please share with me here your thoughts on the above. Thx! x
So to new peeps who are reading this and have felt a little stirring or perhaps popped a bead of inspiration bubble in your creativity seat… please do let me know if any of my above offerings is something you would like to see and or participate in?
Thanks.
x Tanya
