It really is possible to feel joy in any given moment. Joy is ALWAYS available to us if we choose it. The only thing that gets in the way of joy for you and me, is our blocking thoughts and then associated feelings. We need to make a conscious choice to look throughout the day for opportunities for Joy to come in. Opportunities are ALWAYS around us. We can choose to flick the switch in our mind whenever we want to allow us to focus on something and choose for THIS to be a moment of Joy in our day.
Our children come running up to us full of bluster and invitation to potential fun. We are busy doing something (working, cleaning, worrying about something, planning something etc). At this very moment we can exercise MINDFULNESS and CHOOSE to let go of our attachment to what we are doing and turn to those children with a glint in our eye and say or do something silly and playful that invites fun and Joy NOW! Who hasn’t seen their kids eyes and face light up like magic when, after seeing your previously tense facial expression change to a softer look and you are smiling and engaging with them…permitting them into your focus…to be Joyful together.
It requires first the DESIRE for more JOY to come into your days MORE often.
It requires MINDFULNESS to see when opportunities for letting JOY in, arrive.
It requires YOU to GIVE, yourself PERMISSION to PLAY.
It requires FLEXIBILITY, PLIABILITY, MALLEABILITY to stop what you are doing in the present.
It requires you to practice NON-ATTACHMENT to a mood, thought, behaviour and activity.
It requires you to be OPEN to change, newness, fun and JOY.
It is TOTALLY POSSIBLE, to FEEL JOY ALL of the time!
You just have to want it, give it and receive it, then practice it. It is there waiting.
