HEALTH OF MIND, BODY, SPIRIT INTRICATELY LINKED TO OUR CONNECTEDNESS TO SOUL

04/07/2016 By Tanya Cole Leave a Comment

Life has caused me pause for thought of late. Those who surround me, both inspiring me and opening my heart…through holding space for them during their own suffering.

When life gets a little too ‘real’, too painful, too sad; I go inward to Soul for solace. Wise thoughts of comfort proffered up from Soul, act as a rudder to steer my next experience of motioning my own life forward.

I feel very blessed to have this connectedness to Soul and conduit to ‘source’…whatever ‘source’ is. But I know it’s there. I can feel it. I have had enough space through the creative act of art making, to see the innermost workings of my mind. To see it for what it is, how my ego mind functions, what function it serves and I have made friends with it. So it no longer rules my life, my actions or my interactions. I can call on it when I need, in the circumstances for which the ego response is most appropriate. And I can choose to hold it at bay when it is the time for my heart-led intuition to take the stage.

In a round about way, I am getting to is, this…   Connection to Soul is E V E R Y T H I N G.

Our physical health is wobbly when we are not connected to honouring the sacredness of our body. Our mental health is wobbly, when we have not explored beyond our ego mind and seen it for what it is and how it functions. Our spiritual health is dislocated until we have found, and settled into our own profound belief in a universal spiritual guidance of some kind.

When we talk about Mind, Body, Spirit; there are so many layers to these dimensions of ourselves and the extended entities that can help us within these dimensions. It is our job to excavate these layers. Exploring, upturning, experimenting and acting on the insights we gain; helps us to ‘see’, feel or realise, glimpses of our own Soul. As we persist with exploring these layers of Mind, Body, Spirit; the portal of our Soul brings us into more connectedness with source and living life with our hearts open.

Humanity inside me close

Art making as medicine.

The medicine in making art is undeniable.

Tapping into the creative entity that resides within us, brings clarity of mind…about mind. It gifts us with the space of perspective and distance. Breathing space if you like…to understand that we are not just our ego mind. That underneath the layer of Mind; there are other, much deeper layers that comprise who we are. As we lift each layer via immersement in making art, we come to know our true selves…our essence. The health of our MIND, BODY, SPIRIT becomes more solid and less fragmented or fleeting. The integration of the health of all three, brings us to a new level of consciousness where we can contribute to the betterment of others, as well as the world at large.

When we are disconnected to Soul, we experience dislocation…of mind, body or spirit, or all three.

We must make our own personal commitment to searching for Soul connection and nurture this bond on an ongoing basis.

The gifts are untold if we do.

Please leave me a comment to further the conversation.

These are my musings for today. (Inspired by Shaun McNiff’s writings, as well as by the special humans who surround me)

Best Wishes,

x Tanya
