I am really enjoying this painting. I started off with a lot of bright yellow, pinks and greens on a blank canvas and then added some black, cobalt blue, white and magenta. Some gorgeous shapes came together and this is what transpired initially…
I started getting a little overwhelmed with all the colour with no particular one laying claim to the piece. I was enjoying the cobalt blue and kept working it around the fish and the bird and decided to still keep the magenta/pinks the dominating colour to frame the piece. My husband thinks there should be no pink and whole lot of blues, greys and whites because fish have featured in the work! lol! He just doesn’t understand that I am the only female in a house of four males and I NEED pink in my life!
Here is how it is looking at the moment…
Will post up another photo of ‘Upstream Colour Burst’ once I feel that it has reached another level or is finished.
Let me know what you think of the name of it? All the blue made me feel like it was a meandering stream.
